Welcome to the 7th Annual Affordable Housing Summit NZ
This year’s Annual Affordable Housing Development & Investment Summit is an influential platform showcasing the nation’s groundbreaking initiatives in community and affordable housing management, development, funding, and technology.
As we approach the 2023 general election, there is a growing concern regarding the future of housing growth, urban density laws, and affordable housing guidelines.
These issues will be focal points of discussion at the Summit, providing stakeholders with a valuable opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue and actively shape the trajectory of housing policies and practices in New Zealand.

Don't miss out on Build-to-Rent Day (2 Nov)
For the final day of the Summit, the focus will shift entirely to the emerging trend of Build-to-Rent in New Zealand.
Finish off the Summit with a Site Tour to Westlight Apartments or Oranga Developments, where you can see many of the ideas and principles discussed throughout the Summit already being implemented in New Zealand’s largest philanthropic social housing developments.
Review the program for BTR day here.
Westlight Apartments, Glen Eden
Delivered in partnership between the Ted Manson Foundation, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, and Home in Place, Westlight Apartments is a prime example of how financers, government, and community housing providers can partner to deliver mixed-use, mixed-tenure Transit Urban Developments that provide affordable and secure long-term housing options.
Oranga Apartments, Onehunga
Oranga Apartments, developed by New Zealand's largest Build-to-Rent operator, Simplicity Living, comprises 60 apartments built in 13 months using in-situ concrete walls, floor slabs and full brick cladding. The apartments were fully leased within two weeks after receiving 450 registrations of interest. The grounds are extensively landscaped with several notable sculptures by artist Anton Forde.
